DVD portable players are great solutions for families taking vacations of any kind, whether they are taking the car or taking the plane. There are a wide range of DVD portable players available on the market, and many have special features that are convenient for any user.

One of the first facts to take into account to choose a DVD portable player is the size of the display. A player that has a built in one is perfect and compact for road use. Most times, bigger screens are better while small one may hurt your eyes after long usage. Players with large screen can be somehow cumbersome but it allows a lot of people to watch it and will eventually turn into a better experience.

One of the key features that one should consider before deciding on the DVD player model is the video and audio outputs that are available. In order to ensure the best movie playback possible one should purchase a player with high-quality outputs, such as S-Video, component video, and optical out for audio. While selecting the small player it is important that you consider the video outputs available since the small player does not come with a built-in screen.

Nowadays some DVD players come with HDMI out or High Def Multimedia Interface. This type of cable enables high quality audio and high definition video resolution. Most new DVD players feature this option for audio and video outputs. But you will find it hard to find a HDMI DVD player which is both portable and small. HDMI is usually found on models for your home usage, not for travelling. A number of costy laptops which play DVDs feature HDMI out, but it's not quite easy to buy those.
