In recent years going green has become a major focus of both industry and consumer alike. No industry has given as much focus to renewable energy as the auto industry with its intro of the hybrid vehicle. Hybrid new cars are able to effectively conserve fuel by converting electric power at low speeds. In most instances hybrid cars have two engines to effectively conserve fuel consumption. It has the traditional gasoline engine and it also has an electric motor and batteries. The two engines work together in order to cut fuel consumption. Newer hybrid engines rely exclusively on electric and some on hydrogen power. Some used cars are being converted to propane to increase fuel efficiency. With technology improving and cost to build coming down, we may one day see the end to our dependence on fossil fuels. Even today we are seeing vehicles capable of getting greater than 60 miles to a gallon of gasoline and now are seeing some run without the use of gasoline at all.
