During the past few years mobile phone prices have reduced, whilst the cost of mobile phone contracts offered by the networks has remained largely unaltered (although you now get more inclusive inclusive minutes and messages|(but you do get more free minutes these days, you do get more free minutes than you once didThis means the price of a cell phone handset is proportionally lower than it used to be when compared alongside the overall cost of the mobile contract. In the past mobile phone retailers would give away free mobile handsets as an incentive for consumers to take out a contract. Some retailers would even charge a fee for the handset on top of the price of the contract. Mobile phones were extremely expensive, and oftenconsidered a luxury product or status symbol. Today with more widespread use and resulting economies of scale even the best mobile phones can be bought cheaply.
Ironically this causes something of a problem for mobile retailers who are trying to sell cell phone packages by way of of incentives offered to the consumer. The result has been the launch of a number of deals with incentives on offer, for example cell phones with free broadband dongles, cell phones a free television, mobile phones with free instant cash-back, and especially mobile phones with free laptops.
TV’s are amongst the more recent products added to the range of gifts obtainable with cellphones. Even a a couple of years ago, the idea of getting a free 28inch telivision completely free with a cellular phone wouldh have been crazy. But, we have witnessed great changes in the retail sector for TVs which make this viable.
The technology used in the production of|to produce|to manufacturealtered hugely through the last couple of years resulting in the widespread introduction of LCD and HD televisions, and the trend toward digital television. This has mean that large numbers of consumers have upgraded their old televisions. High sales volumes have lead to rapid price reductions of LCD televisions, which had been prohibitively expensive when first launched.
This increase in demand for new televisions, coupled with their relatively low cost has made them a very attractive incentive for potential mobile phone customers. There are a lot of people “thinking” about changing their television for a superior model. If one of these people is in the market for a new mobile phone and sees one of these incentivised mobile phone free TV deals it can be a very powerful incentive to buy.
As with any incentivised mobile phone deal, you need to understand the true value of what you are getting, so, compare the value of other incentivised deals to make sure the value of the television you are being offered is comparable to the value of other free gifts on offer. In particular look at the instant cashback deals on offer, and see how much you can pick up a television for from a cheap online retailer. It may be the case that you could actually get a better deal by taking cashback from the retailer and buying the television yourself.

During the last couple of years mobile handset prices have come down, whilst the price of mobile contracts sold by the mobile network providers has remained pretty much unaltered (although you now get more free minutes and messages|(though you do get more inclusive airtime having said that, you can get more free texts and minutes than you used toThis means the price of a cell phone handset is proportionally lower than it was when compared alongside the full value of the mobile phone contract. In fact, many would actually charge a fee for the mobile phone in addition to the cost of the contract. Mobile phones were, at that time extremely expensive, and often beingconsidered a luxury product or status symbol.
